AI Credits

AI Credits pay for the AI work Uniportal does on your behalf. Every plan includes a monthly allotment, and usage draws down from that allotment as the AI works.

What consumes credits

Credits are consumed by three things.

AI Chat conversations. Every conversation with the AI Assistant draws on credits, whether a technician is working it directly in the Uniportal app or through your connected PSA.

Ticket embeddings. Your historical tickets get synced to Uniportal and embedded so the AI can search them semantically, pulling up the Pax8 licensing ticket from eight months ago because it's relevant, not because it happens to share a keyword with the one in front of you.

Document embeddings. Same idea, for the documentation synced in from your documentation system. Embedding it is what lets the AI actually reference it while working a ticket instead of you having to go look it up and paste it in.

Monthly allotment

Your plan sets a monthly credit allotment that refreshes each billing cycle. Larger plans include a volume discount, so you get more credits per dollar the higher your plan tier. Heavier, more predictable usage is cheaper for us to serve, and that saving gets passed on rather than kept as margin.

Topping up

If you're going to run past your monthly allotment, admins can buy top-up credits directly from the web app at any time. No waiting for the next billing cycle, no need to change plans.

Top-up credits never expire, and they're only drawn on after your regular monthly allotment is used up for the cycle. That ordering is deliberate: it means a top-up is a standing buffer you paid for once, not something that quietly resets or disappears at the end of the month before you've had a chance to use it.

Enterprise spend management

Enterprise plans add better spend management controls for admins. A forty-person MSP needs to cap what any one technician can burn through in a day; a three-person shop usually doesn't, which is why the tighter controls come in at that tier rather than everywhere.
