Create Skills with Claude
Use the downloadable Claude Skill to draft Uniportal Skills that already know your tenant's tools.
Uniportal publishes a Claude Skill you can download from the Skills page and add to Claude. It teaches Claude the exact format a Uniportal Skill needs, and comes pre-loaded with every Agent Tool available on your tenant. Work with Claude to draft the Skill, then copy it into Uniportal.
What's in the download
Two things, bundled into one Claude Skill:
- The format: what each Uniportal Skill field is for, the character limit on Instructions, and what makes a Skill the AI actually follows versus one it ignores.
- Your tenant's tools: every Agent Tool connected through your Integrations, so Claude can reference them by name in the instructions it writes instead of guessing at what you have available.
That second part is why it's worth downloading your own tenant's version rather than working from a generic guide. A generic explanation of the Uniportal Skill format can't tell Claude that your tenant has a NinjaOne tool for resetting a local password, only your tenant's download knows that.
Getting it into Claude
Download the Skill
On the Skills page in Uniportal, download the Claude Skill.
Add it to Claude
Add the downloaded file as a Skill in Claude. Claude now knows the Uniportal Skill format and your tenant's tools for the rest of the conversation.
Drafting a Skill
Talk to Claude the way you would about any real ticket: describe the situation, what should happen, and where a human needs to stay in the loop. Because Claude already has your tool list, it can reference the right tool by name in the instructions instead of a placeholder you'd have to fix by hand.
Push back on the draft the same way you would with a technician. If a step is vague, ask for a verb-first, single-action step. If Claude is guessing at your approval chain, tell it who actually needs to sign off. See Creating good Skills for what a well-written Skill looks like, the same rules apply whether you or Claude wrote the first draft.
Adding it to Uniportal
Claude doesn't publish anything to Uniportal directly.
Open Create new Skill
In Uniportal, go to the Skills page and select Create new Skill.
Copy each field over
Copy the title, description, trigger phrases, instructions, and things to avoid from Claude into the matching fields.
Save and test it
Test the new Skill against a real ticket before trusting it in production, the same as any Skill.
Re-download after you add a tool
The tool list in your download is a snapshot from the moment you got it. If you connect a new Integration or a new Agent Tool shows up afterward, re-download so Claude knows about it too.
