Invite a team member

How to add a new technician or admin to your Uniportal team.

Invites are how you bring a new technician, admin, or other team member into your Uniportal tenant. Each invite assigns a role up front, but for non-admin roles that's only half the setup. Group access has to be added afterward, and until it is, that person can't work a single company or end-user, see the note below.

Sending an invite

Open Team & Roles

Go to Team & Roles and select Invite.

Enter their details and role

Add their email address and choose a role: a built-in role (Owner, Admin, Manager, Engineer, Helpdesk) or a custom role if you've created one. For example, invite Kevin Malone as Helpdesk.

Send the invite

The invitee gets an email with a link to set up their account. The invite stays pending until they accept it.

Assign group access, once accepted

Add them to a group so they can see the customers they need. Kevin isn't fully set up until he's in a group. Until then he can log in, but he won't see any companies or end-users.

Group access can't be set at invite time

A group assignment attaches to the person's account, and that account doesn't exist yet while the invite is pending. So group access is a follow-up step, not part of the invite itself. Plan on it: a non-admin's access isn't actually usable until you've done it.

Managing a pending invite

An invite that hasn't been accepted can be resent, if the email didn't arrive or expired, or revoked, if it was sent to the wrong address or the person no longer needs access. Revoking a pending invite doesn't affect anyone who has already accepted.

Changing access after the invite

Role isn't locked in at invite time either. Adjust it the same way you would for any existing team member. Group membership works the same way, but for a non-admin it isn't optional: without it they're logged in with no company or end-user access at all. See Custom roles and Group access for what each controls.
